Louise Roe's Top Trends for Spring 2011

Our guest editor Louise Roe is a style star who has a serious passion for fashion. She let us in on her fave picks for spring and she's all about the bright colors and 70s-infused styles. Check out her trend forecast to find out what she'll be rocking when the flowers start to bloom!
Bright Colors
Louise Roe says bright colors brighten her day, and she's been wearing more of them since she moved to LA. Lucky for her, spring is bursting with color! May we suggest some Proenza Schouler or Christopher Kane?
Coral and Orange
Louise is big on color for spring, but there's one taking a top spot on her list! She says, "The colors I'm most looking forward to wearing are lots of coral, loads of oranges. That's a really nice color if you have a tan."
Olive Green
Louise is planning on tempering her bold brights with a bit of "olive green because they go with the coral, olive will also run through to fall. Those transseasonal pieces that you can wear both seasons are always good."
1970s Glamour
Louise loves the 70s and takes her inspiration from "actresses from the 1970s." She also loves the color palette of the time—"mustards and golds and greens." Marc Jacobs' glitzy, palm beach glamour collection sounds right up her alley! The satin trench has Louise's name on it!
3/4 Length Skirts
3/4 length skirts are a top pick on Louise's list, she especially loves how Kate Bosworth rocks hers. It's not an easy look to rock and Louise says "you definitely have to wear it with a heel and be careful about wearing it with a loose tank or a nice blouse. It can easily go librarian—you have to be careful—but i want to give that a go."
Boho Chic
Louise loves to glam it up, but she also loves a good tunic and headband for an earthier take on the 70s bohemian. Tracy Reese's spring collection fits the bill for this look and the bright colors satiate Louise's craving for all things colorful.
Bold Caftan Prints
Louise isn't one to shy away from a daring fashion task, so it's no wonder she's gravitating to bold caftan prints. She says, "I love all the prints that are coming up, all the bright caftan prints and bright colors."
Elie Saab Does Studio 54
Louise is a disco gal at heart, so she swooned when Elie Saab sent Studio 54 glam flowy caftans and metallic draped dresses down the runway. A little sparkle and shimmer for spring? Absolutely.
One-Shouldered Jumpsuits
Louise loves bright colors and the 70s, when they merge into one? Well, then it's divine! Louise is looking forward to rocking this absolutely daring, and totally funky one-shouldered jumpsuit by her bud William Tempest!
Laidback Luxe
It's all about the 70s for spring and Louise can't wait to rock tailored jackets, high-waisted wide-leg pants and some seriously stellar prints. She says, "It's quite a nice easy style of dressing. Quite understated." Toss in a towering heel here and there and she's all set!
